Julie Towle, DVM, CVA, CVC, CTVH
Ten years after joining Pet Pals, Dr. Towle purchased the practice in January of 2012, renaming it Pet Pals Holistic Veterinary Hospital. She continues to integrate holistic therapies of TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine), acupuncture and chiropractic with more traditional surgery and western medicine therapies. Dr. Towle graduated from the University of Illinois School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999 and is an active member of The American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association, The American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Central Indiana Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Towle received her first certification in Veterinary Acupuncture in 2003 and also holds current certifications in Veterinary Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Veterinary Spinal Manipulation (aka Chiropractic).
Dr. Towle lives in Carmel with her daughter, Sara, & their 2 dogs. When she’s not helping people with their pets, Julie is involved with various volunteer efforts, practicing Tai Chi, gardening or enjoying music in her spare time!
Natalie Olden-Stahl, DVM, CVA
Dr. Olden-Stahl graduated from the VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She spent one year in Virginia in a private practice, and another three and half years in a 24-hour general practice/emergency hospital. Following that she spent several years in private general practice on Indianapolis’ south-east side. In 2011, she attended the Chi Institute to study Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and attain her certificate as a Veterinary Acupuncturist.
Dr. Olden-Stahl and her husband have two dogs, Buster and Charlee. Her professional interests include internal medicine, geriatric care, wound healing and Eastern Medicine (acupuncture, herbal and food therapy). Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, reading and gardening.
M. Elizabeth Shaw, MVB, CVA
Dr. Shaw joined us in December, 2016 and sees cats and dogs for all medical and surgical services as well as select small mammals.
Dr. Shaw hails from nowhere in particular as she’s a Navy brat but calls New Hampshire home. She opted to travel further a field for her veterinary degree and is a 2009 graduate from University College Dublin, Ireland. Post graduation, she commenced her veterinary career in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery as a rotating intern at University College Dublin.
Following on from cattle, horses, and other cloven hoofed friends, she opted to pursue small animal work a relief veterinary surgeon in the greater Dublin area. In 2011, she joined Bairbre O’Malley Veterinary Hospital, Bray, Co. Wicklow and continued the grand adventure small animal work but also delved into the art of exotic animal care. Alongside this specialized style of practice, she obtained a further certificate in Veterinary Acupuncture (CVA) from Chi Institute of Europe in 2012. She has lectured on the use of acupuncture as an integrated therapy for the treatment of dental disease in degus. Core to her beliefs are that there is no patient too small or too large, too furry, feathery, or scaly that does not deserve a great quality of life.
Outside of clinic hours she enjoys spending time with Anne, her wife with a PhD in Chemistry and their three-legged black and white domestic short hair cat, Das Puddd. You may see them taking a hike, at an Indy11 match or investigating a new micro-brewery.

Jen Norris, Office Manager
Jen joined the practice in October 2015. She has a background in office management in environmental consulting. After ten years in that field, she decided she needed a change and began working as an assistant manager at a doggy daycare and boarding facility. She loved working with the dogs on behavior and socialization.
Jen has had a love for animals since she was a young girl, and grew up with dogs, cats, and horses. She enjoys fishing, hiking, riding ATVs, camping, canoeing, and gardening. She has two dogs; Liza, an akita mix; Coleman, a rottweiler mix; and five rescue cats.
Gale joined Pet Pals in June 2013 as a receptionist. She previously worked in customer service positions until her love of pets led to veterinary clinic work, including Customer service at Elanco animal health. Gale lives in Indianapolis with her husband Jeff. They enjoy camping with their 3 dachshunds Beau, Lucy, and Tucker.
Harley has worked with Pet Pals since May of 2016. She has over 10 years experience in customer service, over 4 years experience fostering animals, and a lifelong love of all animals and wildlife. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family including her husband, young son, 3 large dogs and one cat.
Megan, Technician Manager
Megan joined the practice in July 2007. Her first job as a veterinary assistant was in 2002. She pursued the love of working in the veterinary field by obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Purdue University in 2006.
In her free time, Megan enjoys participating in sporting activities with her dog, going to concerts and eating Thai food.
Billy has been working with Pet Pals since 2014. She attended the vet Tech Institute, graduated in May of 2013, and has worked in veterinary medicine since January of 2013. Billy became a Registered Veterinary Technician in August of 2013.
Outside of work, Billy enjoys spending quality time with her husband, her dog Ernie, family, and friends. She also enjoys playing softball, doing arts and crafts, and outdoor activities.
Maria is our Cat Advocate and veterinary assistant, Maria joined our practice in April 2015. She has lived in Indiana her whole life, and shares her home with her husband, six cats and a dog. Maria enjoys spending time outside, yoga, learning photography, hiking with her dog, reading, drawing and playing online roleplaying games. She is currently working toward her biology degree from Purdue University. Veterinary medicine is her first love, but she is also interested in conservation and evolutionary biology.

Julie is originally from North Carolina, where she attended North Carolina State University and obtained her bachelor’s degree in animal science. She worked at an emergency veterinary hospital in Raleigh, NC from 2007-2015. She recently moved to Indiana and joined our practice in 2016.
In her free time, Julia enjoys spending time with her dogs and cats, hiking, reading, and gardening.
